Makayla Doran

Originally from Pennsylvania, Makayla grew up surrounded by nature, spending summers at the Jersey Shore where her love for conservation and the natural world first began. She attended Eckerd College, graduating in 2023 with a degree in Environmental Studies and minors in Biology and Coastal Management.

 

Following graduation, she taught garden classes at elementary schools throughout St. Petersburg and worked in Pre-K education at ZooTampa at Lowry Park, combining her passion for environmental education with hands-on learning experiences for children.

 

In May 2026, Makayla joined the team as Environmental Projects & Education Coordinator. She is passionate about connecting people with the environment through education, conservation initiatives, and community engagement, with a special focus on inspiring the next generation to care for the natural world.
